J.D. Bose
Joslyn D. Bose is a multidisciplinary artist with over two decades of experience in a variety of mediums including acting, music, visual art, and writing. She is a first-generation college graduate with a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor’s degree in art focused in painting and photography, specializing in oil painting and photo editing.
Joslyn started her training in the arts at a young age in various academic programs. She participated in school choir grades one through twelve, and beyond in college. Over the course of her choral training she sang in ten different languages and studied Japanese both privately and academically. In high school she sang in ensemble for two years, studied the martial arts system of Kenpo for two years, wrote for the student paper entertainment column, and performed leading roles in two school theatre productions.
From high school through college, she performed lead and harmony vocals - including several solos and duets - both academically and in multiple nonprofit community music groups for nine years in live-streamed performances (this required performing on stage for up to a hundred people, collaborating with band mates on vocal arrangements, managing IEMs and personal audio mix, and singing with in-ear instrument and click tracks). During this time, she completed introductory training in multiple movement disciplines via university and private classes, including modern and contemporary dance, swing dance, and Tai Chi. She performed in a collegiate talent show in her freshman year and played a principal role in a student indie film production in her sophomore year.
In recent years, Joslyn has been dedicating more time to character study, music and voice work, acting, and creative writing through multiple independent projects such as singer-songwriting, performing, solo and collaborative fiction, tabletop role-playing games, and self publication. Since age thirteen she has written over forty songs and plans to record and release them independently.
In 2023, an excerpt from one of her creative writing projects was chosen for publication in a collegiate student-run serial. That same year she released an original ttrpg system called DICER.P.G. and created the book cover design, custom fonts, art and illustrations, game mechanics, and all content within (including editing and publishing).
The following year beta 2.0 released, and DICER.P.G. is continuing to be refined to this day (beta 3.0 is currently in development) with a planned print edition upon the completion of beta testing. Additionally, she is compiling and editing an anthology of her academic essays for future self-publication.
In 2026, Joslyn performed as seven male supporting roles and provided wardrobe assistance in the all-women readers theatre production of “A Piece of My Heart” by the Pull-Tight Players Theatre, and completed a six week improvisational acting class with Nashville Improv.
She is currently performing paid session vocal work for independent music projects and auditing a variety of classes, including the Nashville Acting Studio in-person class taught by Caroline Locorriere and the Cohen Acting Studio online class taught by Robyn Cohen. Concurrently, she is furthering her training in the speak-singing technique through private coaching with Asunta D’urso Fleming in Nashville, and the Yat Malmgren/Laban technique with the Giles Foreman Centre for Acting Los Angeles classes taught by Giles Foreman.
